History
Principal empresa de transporte ferroviario de pasajeros y mercancías en España. Es una entidad pública empresarial, dependiente del Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana, constituida por cuatro sociedades anónimas: Renfe Viajeros, Renfe Mercancías, Renfe Fabricación y Mantenimiento y Renfe Alquiler de Material Ferroviario. Es heredera de la antigua Red Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Españoles, dividía en dos empresas por la Ley del Sector Ferroviario. Renfe-Operaria pasó a operar el material y servicios ferroviarios, mientras que Adif administró la infraestructura ferroviaria.
